Roberta Ann Beane

Roberta “Bobbie” Ann (Griffin) Beane, 88, was born and raised in Morris, Illinois and attended Morris High School. Upon graduation, she relocated to South Bend, Indiana where she earned her nursing degree from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She met her future husband in South Bend where he attended the University of Notre Dame.

Together they moved to Indianapolis and started their family on the northeast side, where she remained. Bobbie practiced nursing for nearly forty years at Community East Hospital, most of that time in the pediatric unit followed by a few years in a family practice office. She was a dedicated and skilled nurse who loved helping kids.

Bobbie was predeceased by her husband, Patrick H. Beane, her parents, Edward and Helen Griffin and two brothers, Edward Griffin and Michael Griffin. She is survived by her daughters Sara Zunk (Mark) and Jane Balkema (Dave) and two grandchildren Patrick Zunk (Caitlyn) and Grace Balkema, her sister Carol Gant, and several nieces and nephews.

Bobbie’s family would like to thank all of the amazing nurses, caregivers, and staff at Paradigm Health and Marquette Manor Health Care Center. A special recognition to Amanda, Ashlynde , Char, and Shay who made Bobbie’s life more comfortable.

Mom, she made home a nice place.

There will be private graveside services arranged by Crown Hill Cemetery.
