

Robertine Ruth "Tina" Linthicum, age 86, of Avon, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022. Robertine was born May 18, 1935 in Bloomington, Indiana to the late Robert W. and Mable (Sexton) Newport. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Taylor; step brother, Lenny Payton; 2 step fathers, Jasper Payton and Jack Collier; and brothers-in-law, Robert Taylor, Willard Dubois, and Jack Walcott.
Robertine was a devoted wife, and stay-at-home mom who loved cooking, baking, gardening, nature, floral design, jewelry, country music, and sewing. She sewed many clothes for her and her daughter including dresses, aprons, blouses, pants and 2-piece suits. She and her sisters grew up singing in their grandpa's (Rev. Robert Sexton's) church in Bloomington, Indiana. Some of her favorite past times included playing cards (she always won), mushroom hunting in the spring, persimmon hunting near Crane Naval Base in the fall, and fishing at the family cabin on the East Fork of the White River in Lawrence County. She always caught the most fish. Her hero was Walker, Texas Ranger (Chuck Norris) and she spent countless hours watching every show in the series.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gary R. Linthicum; daughter, Diana S. Roy (Susie); granddaughters, Angela M. Worden (Nick) and Stephanie A. Carignan (Wade); five great grandchildren, Monica and Lucas Worden and Jett, Reese, and Navy Carignan; sisters, Barbara DuBois, Ruth Ann Walcott, and Mitzie (Robert) Reichmann; and seven nephews and one niece.
Visitation for Robertine will be held Monday, January 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Family Funeral Care-Rockville West, 5791 Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
