72, of Indianapolis passed away on October 9, 2011. He was born on December 29, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Elbert and Helen (Surbur) Russell. He was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1957. He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post 495 and their color guard. He worked for 32 years as a computer operator last working for Indianapolis Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1997. He is preceded in death by his wife Judith E. (Ashley) Russell. Roger is survived by his children Ashley Clark, Roger Russell, sister Jenny Lee Whalen, brothers Glen, James Russell and 4 grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday October 12 from 10 am – 2 pm at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary followed by a funeral services at 2:30 pm at Washington Park East Cemetery.
