

Roy retired from the Washington Township Fire Department (now part of Indianapolis Fire Department) in 1999 with 25 years of service receiving numerous awards and citations including the Benjamin Franklin Silver Medal award. He spearheaded the creation of the Washington Twp. Fire Department's 25th anniversary yearbook and was instrumental in the creation of the first "Survive Alive" trailer for the department. He was a member of Keystone Masonic Lodge #251, the Indianapolis Scottish Rite, and the Washington Twp. Retired Firefighters Club. He loved to travel, play golf, research his family genealogy, and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon (Gray) Jennings; two sons, Patrick M. Jennings and Timothy J. (Danielle) Jennings; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dalton, Michael, Delaney and Cora. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald E. Jennings and Harland L. Jennings.
Services will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Masonic services will be at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral services at 1:30 p.m.
