Ryan Sirville Greer, 48, completed his earthly journey on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with his family by his side. Ryan was born September 10, 1977, making the late Elder Freddie and Patricia Greer two of the proudest parents in Hammond, Indiana.
Although his friends and family referred to him by various endearing names (“Chuck,” “Money,” “Greer,” “Piano Playa”), all these endearments originated from the same root...Love. If you knew Ryan, you could not help but love him; because love and kindness is what he offered to everyone he met. He was a debonair gentleman who carefully guarded his faith just like his father taught him. He served God through the ministry of music and cherished the atmosphere of worship it allowed him to usher in when he played. It was music that carried Ryan through his roughest days.
Ryan’s character and fun-loving personality allowed him to gain lifelong friends throughout his lifetime, beginning as early as his elementary years at St. Stanislaus School, East Chicago, IN, where he formed friendships that he maintained to date. Those friendships carried over into high school, where the exceptional bond of brotherhood with his “brothers from other mothers,” Raynald Bryant and Winston Carey, were forged at Bishop Noll Institute, Hammond, IN. These two men stood by Ryan’s side during his last days to let him know that not even death could break their bond.
He went on to build numerous friendships, acquaintanceships, and special relationships while attending Purdue University Northwest and during his employment at Menard’s and the U.S. Postal Service. However, it was not until the birth of his sons that he began to utterly understand the power of unconditional love and the essence of kinship. He was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to protect, support, and provide for his family unit.
In later years, he was blessed with bonus children who loved him as if they were born of his blood. This honor was bestowed upon him when he met his soulmate, Tammie Bradley, who has been by his side ever since and never wavered.
In addition to his parents, Eld. Freddie Greer and Patricia Patton-Greer, Ryan was preceded in death by two sisters, Pamela Greer, Clarice Greer; one brother, Anthony S. Greer; one niece, Nicole Stephan.
He is survived by his devoted fiancée, Tammie Bradley; three sons, Ryan T. Greer, Logan Greer, Dylan Greer; one bonus daughter, Keturah Scott; two bonus sons, Micaiah Scott, Ariel Scott; three bonus grandchildren, Akeera Scott, Nixon Scott, Noelle Scott; two brothers Freddie Greer, Jr., Anthony Duke; seven sisters, Diane Tucker, Linda Greer, Pamela McCullough, Gloria Greer, Kathy Duke, Lisa Greer, Mignon (Andrea) Burr; one aunt, Ernestine Greer; one very special cousin who was more of a sister to him, Desire’ (Henry) Williams.
He will continue to thrive through the memories he shared with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, individuals he loved, those whose lives he touched, and whose lives touched him.
Ryan’s life will be remembered and honored at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208. Visitation hours for friends and loved ones will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Immediately followed by a celebration of life service at the same location.
After the service, family and friends are invited to a repast at the Fredrick Douglass Park Family Center, 1616 E. 25th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218. Please join us as we share memories and honor Ryan's life.
