

Samuel attended Indianapolis public schools as a child and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. Samuel enlisted in the United States Army and spent eleven (11) years as a trained cook and expert Marksman. Upon retiring from the military, he worked at Chrysler Motor Company and retired from Refined Metals industries.
Samuel spent most of his free time detailing cars, cooking and enjoying being among family and friends. Samuel also started a successful business Campbell’s Catering with his wife Joyce W Smith Campbell (who preceded him in death)
Samuel found Christ at Eastern Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeffery A. Johnson. As an active member Samuel sang in the men’s Church Choir and enjoyed Sunday morning services. He later started attending These Are They Church under the leadership of Pastor Garry L. Merriweather Sr.
Samuel Larry Campbell departed this earthly life on January 24, 2022 at age 79. He was the husband of Joyce W. Smith Campbell of 25 years who preceded him in death, brothers, Robert Williams, Tracey McCulley, sister, Shirley Finch, grand-child, Shawn Campbell, also preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories two brothers: Leon Finner, Alonzo McCaulley, five children: Abbigale (James) Allen, Cynthia Campbell (Bradley) Kirk, Terry (Torrianna) Campbell, Ronnie Campbell, Antonio Campbell. Six stepchildren: Stephen (Le’gretta) Smith, Rita (Demietrus) Spencer, Michael (Diane) Smith, Keith (Tamika) Howard, Corey (Carol) Howard. Grandchildren: Anthony Baker Jr, Aaron (Demetral) Allen, Kevin Campbell, Jamika Orr, Motique Orr, Mickle Orr Jr, Jamon Camp-bell, Sparkle Beach, Ronnie Campbell Jr, Daron Crooms, Dominique Crooms, Jasmine Campbell, Shaunte’ Campbell, Daunte’ Campbell, Terry Campbell Jr., Michael Campbell, Antonio Campbell, Anterria Campbell, Terrina Campbell, Joseph Campbell, Antonio Campbell Jr., Christina Campbell, Aidan Campbell, seventeen step- grandchildren: Shaun Moore, Ahlivia Spencer, Ashley Spencer, Jonathan Smith, Jaden Smith, Laila Smith, Samaya Smith, Kira Smith, Kaden Moore, Avery Moore, Tasha Brown, Keila Adams, Ashlee Finley, Sabrina Howard, Destiny Ballinger, Lawren Allen, Allen Reed, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, church family and friends.
