Shirley "Betty" Elizabeth (Ledford) Bertram

Shirley "Betty" Elizabeth (Ledford) Bertram, age 80, of Beech Grove, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Betty was born December 28, 1941 in Ivyton, Tennessee to the late John and Clara Ledford. Betty graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1959 and married Charles "Chuck" Bertram on August 28th that same year. Betty was a member of Ruby Rocker Red Hats and the Baxter YMCA water aerobics. She was affectionately known as "Gramma B" to much of the Southside of Indianapolis. Betty held many roles in her life, but she was an artist in everything she did. She made fast friends everywhere she went and she never knew a stranger. Betty's greatest passion in life was her family and she attended as many extra curricular activities as she could. She loved watching her grandkids and great grandkids in sports, choir and concerts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Betty is survived by her children, Beth (Bob) Boone, Sonny (Barbara) Bertram, Thomas "Bud" (Barb) Bertram and Mandy (Scott) Bryan; grandchildren, Andy (Michelle) Boone, Adam (Amber) Boone, Tarah (Ben) Tucker, Bobby (Natasha) Bertram, Ryan Bertram, Alisha (Matt) Cussen, Danielle (Corey Mills) Bertram, Amber (Kevin) Smith, Abbey (Zack) Kennelly, Alec Bryan, Payton Bryan, Caroline Short and Avery Short; great grandchildren, Madelyn Boone, Ethan Boone, Dillon Brown, Caleb Tucker, Grace Tucker, Luke Tucker, Chyann (Mike) Pickett, Austin Smothers, Alex Smothers, Ayden Bertram, Delayne Bertram, Baylie Bertram, Emmalin Bertram, Malcolm Cussen, Charley Smith, Lucy Smith, Oliver Kennelly and Lily Kennelly; great great grandchild, Mikey Pickett; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chuck Bertram; parents, John and Clara Ledford; and brother, Robert "Bud" Ledford. A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
