My memories of Shirl are as a wonderful college roomate and dear friend. We shared many happy times in college, including feeding a wild squirrel at our dorm window and enjoying Pennsylvania Dutch cooking along with social events on campus. One of my assignments was to sew a formal dress. Shirl was my model for whom I made a long yellow taffeta dress. She looked wonderful in it as she danced the night away during one of our formals. When we had breaks, I was always welcome in Shirl's home, and her parents were always kind.

We kept in touch after graduation and shared many happy times through phone calls, cards, and visits. She was a very special person, and I feel honored to call her my friend.

I remember as a youngster listening to my mom talk to Aunt Shirl all the time on the phone.  I always thought it was so great to have a sister to share your "ups and downs" through life. I don't have as sister, but witnessed their special bond. The Reynolds girls are together now, and they are missed. God Bless.

I remember that our Mom told me that Aunt Shirl was taken out of class at Cedar Crest so they could tell her she was an aunt for the first time.

Aunt Shirl gave back to her community and church by helping those in need.  I can recall her delivering meals to her neighbors and then for many years to complete strangers with Meals on Wheels.  All these years later, now retired, my wife and I are participating in Meals on Wheels.  Through the memory of Aunt Shirl's generosity, we are carrying on her desire to help others.

To the Lupton Family and Indiana Relatives :
I was truly blessed to have Shirley in my family’s life and as a best friend for 30 years!  I hope I was able to give back to her as well when she took on Don since he needed more medical guidance and support that often was too much fir her! I did intervene as best I could to alleviate that added  stress.  I know having me as a resource was of some help! Thank you for all the love and  support you provided for Shirley (not just after her move to Indiana) but with her life in Willow Grove!  She loved her family so!Shirley prided herself in her being independent and she was always pushing to keep herself healthy so she could live her older years  with the ability to not burden anyone! Being so close to her for 20 years geographically speaking,  I even had a hard time offering help ? such as a ride to an appointment or shopping when she was not up to par! She did permit me to make her  meals (as she liked my cooking) so I tried to treat  her monthly with a roast beef or lasagna or a casserole! Don in her life shifted her time as he became a big responsibility and she was even more busy assisting him with his life! I tried I offer help but again her strong character and desire not to burden anyone kept her from accepting it until he was in the hospital with leg edema so finally I could give her some support in some small way! Her energy for her church was a big part of her dedication in life! . From  her  Bible group devotion to volunteer duties in the neighborhood  one never knew where you’d find her on any given day!  And her love of dogs and my Ursa was a favorite of hers and she did puppy sit him on occasion! Ursa adored  her as well so he helped her by being a pup presence in her life too! She wasn’t fond of cats but my one Bengal cat, Sparkle, won her over after all and  she was surprised how much  he was similar to a dog!
My children were so blessed to have her be a part of their lives and school activities  as well!

Sending my thoughts to the family  and yes I miss her already!  Yet her wisdom will remain with me  as I continue  on this Journey without her present! Knowing she is in heaven helps me even more as she has a closer connection to God so I can still call upon her when in need! Here is how we met!  
Shirley became my prayer partner when my
5 month old Daughter was hospitalized with a rare case of infantile botulism! Shirley was my brand new neighbor as I had just moved into Willow Grove and was blessed to land on Forest Avenue across the street from Shirley! She prayed for my daughter and helped me during that worse time ever when thinking I’d loose my baby! Shirley prayed and I believe her and my own mom made a miracle happen as my daughter survived quite an ordeal!
Shirley continued to pray for me over next 40 years as I had many tragedies in my life that needed a strong connection to the  Lord! It was hard when she left the Willow Grove area but her moving close to family in Indiana was her wish so she could see more of her grandchildren and  great  grandchildren as the years progressed! I know she is now with her dog” Ben “ as she waited a long time to be reunited with him as well as Betsy, her daughter!  Thank you to Brenda and  Dennis for making sure my bi monthly phone calls made it to Shirley’s bedside so we could catch up on our lives! She was a second Mom and a best friend so I was blessed to have her in my life.  Shirley attended all my children’s events like plays and concerts so her “Presence” was a big part of  my entire family’s  life as well!  

Shirley Have a joyous reunion with friends from the neighborhood and spending time with family again as that is what Heaven is all about!
