Thomas W. Grissmer, “Tom,” peacefully passed away on December 27th, 2022 – He was born on October 10th, 1938 in Anderson, IN to John and Helen Grissmer. He attended Christ the King Grade school and graduated from Cathedral HS in 1956. He received a degree in Accounting from Xavier University which lead to a career with Anderson Accounting and RCA for several years. He retired from the Dept. of Health and Human Services here in Indianapolis in 2004.
He married the love of his life, Alma, 44 years ago. He was an exemplary father to children Cristina and Danny.
Tom was a St. Vincent de Paul warehouse volunteer for 16 years. This was a cause that was near and dear to his heart. He was also an avid sports fan and had a penchant for horse racing.
Tom leaves behind his wife Alma and his Daughter Christina. He also leaves behind his brother David (Judy) Grissmer and Sister Jane (Craig) Grissmer as well as a great number of loving nieces and nephews residing in Virginia, Maryland and Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son Danny.
A Mass celebrating Tom’s life will be held Wednesday January 11th at 11:00am at Christ the King Church, 5884 N. Crittenden Ave., Indianapolis, IN. Visitation with the family will take place at 10:00am that morning, at the church.
Tom is already missed by his family and many friends. He leaves behind an unforgettable print in our hearts.
