Timothy "Tim" Nelson

Timothy (Tim) Nelson was born on November 2, 1955, to Johnnie H. Nelson and Thelma T. (Allen)-Nelson. He grew up in Gary, Indiana. After completing high school, he decided to enlist in the United States Marines where he served for a period of time before discharging honorably.

Tim was a very loving, fun-filled, caring person. He captured the love, admiration and reciprocal care of the many people who came to know him.

He was a classy dresser, who well-coordinated his entire wardrobe. Tim was known for his hats, accessories and footwear. In addition, he developed an interest in sharpening his culinary skills as his palette developed and changed.

Tim departed this life on January 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his son-Timothy Nelson, Jr.; born to his first wife Vanessa (Nelson) Johnson, his father Johnnie H. Nelson; stepfather, Beatrice Bullock; three brothers- Robert E. Nelson, Victor L. Nelson and Edwin G. Nelson. One sister-Melba J.

(Nelson)-Abram (James).

Tim leaves precious memories of his life to cherish with his loving wife; Cynthia A. (Hall)-Nelson, stepson Anthony Smith; two granddaughters Naria and Ziyan Smith along with their mother Lavida Williams.

He also leaves his mother, Thelma T. Bullock, his brother and best friend Charles H. (Lavita) Nelson and three sisters Madlyn Nelson-Harper, Meleta L. Nelson-Ramirez, and Jacqueline R. Nelson-Peoples (Donald) along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as an overflow of great friends and acquaintances.

A visitation for Timothy will be held Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM.
