John Jones and Nellie Ball Jones. Treva Jean was a typical southern girl growing up post Great
Depression–she left home early and married the love of her life, George Zentz, Jr. (d. March 29,
1990). George and her brother, Edmond served in the Navy together during World World II, and
when George came home with Edmond on leave it was love at first sight. The two ran off and
got married in Roswell, Georgia on December 22, 1948.
Treva always had odd and end jobs like working at a factory for five years, babysitting, and
cleaning car dealerships, but her job that she took the most pride in was being a mother,
grandmother, and wife. She and George have four children, Danny Zentz (75), Gregory Zentz
(71), Pamela Hunter (65) with husband Mark Hunter (64), and Kimberly Burcham (56) with
husband Chad Burcham (54). They have five grandchildren. Matthew Zentz with wife Jennifer
Zentz, April Zentz, Buffy Hunter Gross with husband Michael Gross, Taylor Burcham Langston
with wife Tyler Langston, and Baylee Burcham. They have twelve great grandchildren and five
great great grandchildren.
Treva woke up every morning, put her hair in curlers, put on her face, put on her coffee, and
started her housework. She loved flipping through pages of magazines and ordering home
decor, presents for christmas, and toys for new grandbabies. There is one more job that Treva
will leave behind, and I am sure her kids and grandkids will surely try to fill–she was a Wheel of
Fortune Legend.
I, Buffy, her granddaughter, was very fortunate to have spent a great deal of time with her. She
didn’t have the fanciest house, and we didn’t go on any getaways, but we had a whole lot of
love, a fresh pot of coffee, a lot of gossip, a dresser full of makeup, and a big picture window to
look out at the neighbors–a girl could not ask for anything more. About a month before she
passed I asked her if she was ready to see Papa (pronounced pawpaw) again. She said, “Yeah,
I am.” I asked her what her favorite color was, and she said, “Red.” I told her I was going to put
her in a red dress and red lipstick so her and Papa could dance when she saw him. On March
25, 2025 at approximately 11:30 pm, Treva Jean, Mama TT (pronounced mawmaw), went to
Heaven to dance with her love once again. I am sure they are having the time of their lives once
again.
A private family graveside service will be held Monday, March 31, 2025 at 12 pm at Lincoln
Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6851 S Indianapolis Rd, Whitestown, IN 46075.
