Veronica Theresa Teat Wilson was born January 9, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Geneva Garland Teat and Herman Teat. Having completed her life’s assignment, she answered the Lord’s call and was carried home on angel’s wings Monday, March 27, 2023.
A Time for God
“Ronnie” as she was affectionately known, accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age; joining St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Andrew J. Brown.
A Time to Learn
Ronnie’s elementary school education started in the Indianapolis Public School System at Riverside School #44. She attended Northwest High School, graduating in 1977.
A Time to Work
Ronnie started working odd jobs during her formative years; a requirement of very work originated parents. She would go on to work at RCA distribution Center for several years before becoming employed for the United States Postal Service where she serviced for over a decade.
Ronnie also worked several decades as an aide to the disabled and elderly until her health prevented her from doing so.
A Time to Share
United in holy matrimony, the union was blessed with two true and perfect gifts from God, daughter, Amber and son, Wayne. It was on the birthday anniversary of Wayne that God declared “Ronnie, well done my good and faithful servant; you can come on in!”
Ronnie enjoyed laughing, roller skating, swimming and outdoors especially nature parks. Riverside Park was at the top of that list because of its proximity to her childhood stomping grounds; filled with years of treasured memories. Let’s not forget her appetite. You could better afford to clothe her than feed her.
Spending quality time with family, especially her grandchildren gave her great joy! She loved road trips; meaningful ones leading to quality time with relatives at reunions.
The best description of Ronnie is “Life of the Party’. You always had to sneak and take a picture of her but there was no doubting the festivities belonged to her.
A Time to Mourn
Veronica’s parents, maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death.
A Time to Depart
She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved children, Amber (Jamayo) Moody and Wayne Wilson, Jr.; loving grandchildren Nazir, Kylin, Kameron, Eden, and Kason; her beloved siblings; brother, Reginald Brooks, Hawaii; sisters, Yvonne and Angela Teat, both of Indianapolis; special nephew, Jesse Jones; along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews, Family and Friends.
Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
