

January 26, 1913 to October 24, 2009 Mrs. Vivian Louise Townsend 96 of Kokomo Passed away on, Saturday, October 24, 2009, 8:37 PM at Fairmont Rehabilitation Center. Vivian Louise Townsend was born on January 26, 1913 the daughter of Augustus and Pansy Donald Kennedy in Kokomo, Indiana. She was a faithful member of Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she was served as a member of the Anna C. Clayborne Missionary Society and Stewardess Board. Mrs. Townsend was a founding member Siete Ameigas, former Eastern Star, and an artist specializing in ceramics and paintings. She was self employed as a domestic worker. She was a well known hat maker and seamstresscreating many prom and wedding dresses as well as Barbie Doll clothing. She was preceded in death by husband, Irvin; parents, Augustus and Pansy Kennedy; sister; Martha Hayes; brother, Vincent D. Kennedy, Sr.; and nephew, Donald V. Kennedy. She is survived by her niece, Vivian N. Lynch (Warren) of Cypress, Texas; nephews, Alan Jerry Kennedy (Pat) of Columbia, Maryland, Robert L. Hayes, Sr. (Reba) of Kokomo, Indiana, and Keith E. Hayes (Yolanda) of Baltimore, Maryland; step sons, William Townsend of California and Michael Townsend of California; step daughters, Delores Dixon of California, Joan Runels of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Carolyn Carter of California.
