William Jeffrey Rice

William "Jeff" Rice, 77, Indianapolis, passed away on July 7th 2025 in Indianapolis. Jeff was born on April 14th 1948 in Indianapolis to Creston Jr. Rice of Indiana and Elizabeth "Betty" Rice of Scotland.

He was a practicing Baptist Christian and worked at Allison's Transmission for 28 years before retiring. In his free time, Jeff enjoyed basketball, chess, baseball, golf, B-ball, fishing, bicycling and card games. He also collected guns and rifles.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Creston (1958) and Betty (2007) Rice. In addition, he is preceded by his brothers Courtney Rice, Ronald Rice and Donald Rice. Jeff is survived by his wife, Joyce Rice; his sons William (Carol) Rice and Bryan (Laura) Rice; his sister Kathy (Dave) William; His stepchildren Antonio (Elizabeth) Howard, Gina (Darrel) Buggs and Trena (Alexis) Taylor, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Jeff will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Indiana Parkinson Foundation to support victims of this disease as well as their loved ones.
