William Norman Walton, 59, of Oaklandon, Indiana passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Billy was born on July 6, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Larry and Margaret Walton. He graduated from Lawrence North High School. He married the love of his life Michelle Christine (Wright) Walton on October 1, 1988 in Indianapolis, Indiana. After high school, at the age of 18, he achieved many certifications and started his career in HVAC at Spatig Heating and Cooling. Prior to launching his own business, B&M Mechanical, he also worked many years for Air-trol Heating and Cooling.
Billy was a hardworking man who dedicated himself to providing for his family. He was the kind of person everyone could count on — whether it was fixing something broken, lending a helping hand, or simply showing up when it mattered most. Gifted with anything mechanical and incredibly handy, Billy could build, repair, or figure out just about anything.
Billy was known throughout Indianapolis not only for his hard work and mechanical talent, but for the pride he took in his business, B&M Mechanical, and the people he served. He built lasting relationships with his customers. The people he worked with became family to him over the years. They remained loyal to Billy because they could count on his honesty, hard work, and genuine heart. He valued those relationships deeply and appreciated every person who supported him through the years.
Outside of work, Billy found his greatest joy in the simple moments of life: weekends at the lake, boating on warm summer days, sitting around bonfires with family and friends, and enjoying an ice-cold beer while sharing stories and laughter. He was fueled by a lifelong love of racing. He treated his garage as a sanctuary, always ready to lend a hand and share his knowledge with anyone who needed help with a project. Above all else, Billy adored his boys, bonus daughters and grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and nothing brought him more pride and happiness than being their Pops and Pop Pop.
Billy was also known as the best uncle his nieces and nephews could ask for — always fun-loving, dependable, and full of humor. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to them .He wore the Uncle Bill title as a badge of honor.
Billy leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory, including his loving wife, Michelle Walton; Children, Alex (Janis), Nick (Megan) and Luke (Rachel); and his treasured grandchildren, Mark Norman, William Dewayne, and Harper Jo; His father, Larry Walton; Father and Mother In-law David and Jacqueline Wright, his siblings, Susie (Greg) Hicks and Rick (Brandy) Walton, Brother in-law Aaron Wright, an abundance of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nephew; and loving companions Kora and Kaia.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Margaret Louise (Buchanan) Walton; Grandparents, Norman & Kathryn Walton and Albert & Annabelle Buchanan.
Billy’s legacy will live on through the countless memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. We find comfort in knowing that God welcomed him home, probably handed him a set of tools, and gave him a brand-new project to tinker with. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 12 Stones Fellowship, 12130 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis, IN 46236. Visitation will be from 2PM -4PM, with the Memorial Service starting at 4PM. Service officiated by his lifelong friend, Pastor Rafael Dito Padro.
