

Willie H. Lewis Jr., 84, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Affectionately known as “Plucum,” he will be remembered for his service, kindness, and deep love for family and community.
A graduate of Crispus Attucks High School, Willie worked 37 years at General Motors before continuing his career with Werner Enterprises and later the Washington Township Metropolitan School District. He also served nearly 30 years in the U.S. Army and National Guard, retiring in 2001 with multiple honors.
Known as “MacGyver” for his ability to fix anything, Willie never met a stranger and brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and time with loved ones, and was a devoted member of New Horizons Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nerina Lewis; his children; Damon Lewis, Shannon Johnson, Ramon Lewis, Anissia Lewis Gaines (Michael), Michael Williams, Gorden Glaspie, and Tonya Glaspie; twenty six grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; his sister, Dr. Madora Lewis; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Remembrance Hall, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, on March 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will take place at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Remembrance Hall, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, on March 27, 2026, at 11:00 am.
