Bettye Hudson Brown

Bettye Hudson Brown, 84, of Jackson passed away December 6, 2015 at Jackson Healthcare Facility. She was born December 19, 1930. Never meeting a stranger, she enjoyed talking with people and driving around the surrounding areas. She had been employed with the Mobile Press-Register, The South Alabamian, Orange Beach COC and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of Oyster Bay Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” Hudson and Norene Dunn Hudson and siblings, Robin Hudson, Jim Hudson, Joe Hudson, Quida Smith and Rosemary Hudson. She is survived by her husband, Carl Brown of Jackson; children, Mike (Kathy) Brown of Jackson, Lee (Jenny) Brown of Enterprise; siblings, Morris (Brenda) Hudson of Jackson, Johnny (Elizabeth) Hudson of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Catherine Hudson of Mobile and Ronita Hudson of Jackson and grandchildren, Wendy Brown, Mendy Tolbert, William Brown and Hayley Brown. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 9 at First United Methodist Church in Jackson with the Rev. Allen Gantzhorn officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Trinity Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Houston Avery, John Dowling, Al Graddy, Bud Rogers, Terry Sears and Edward Gilley.
