John Lewis Carter

John L. Carter, Jr, 78, of Jackson, passed away July 13, 2016 at Jackson Medical Center. He was born December 12, 1937 to John L. Carter, Sr. and Inez Atchison Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Beverly Carter; son, John Christopher Carter; brother, Jimmy Carter and his parents. He is survived his daughter, Beverly Carter; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Jackson with the Revs. Ben Stubblefield and Brian Jemison officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be ‘The Dirty Dozen’; Robert Bumpers, Billy Griffin, James Griffin, Joe Dubose, Sam Houston, Weadell Woodson, Jimmy Dowling, Ernest Coleman, Dane Daugherty, Mike Whitehead, Jessie Evans, Mickey Fountain, Marlyn Cranford, Ward Edge, Arlen York, Dr.Glen Bridges. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing.
