
Lloyd Etheredge Wilson, 69, of Coffeeville, Alabama passed away peacefully on August 10, 2016. He was born on October 1, 1946. Lloyd, with his loving wife Rita by his side, fought a long and courageous battle against an aggressive cancer. He was retired from Olin Chemical Corporation where he worked as a multi-craft maintenance specializing in welding for thirty-seven years. Lloyd was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. Among Lloyd’s many community activities, he was most proud of being a charter member (1969- 2016) of the Coffeeville Volunteer Fire Department and a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Coffeeville (32 years). Lloyd and his wife Rita were recognized by the state of Alabama People’s Against Litter (PALS) for the many hours and services dedicated to the beautification of Coffeeville (Coffeeville Beautification Committee 14 years) and Clarke County (Clarke County Citizens Against Litter ). He was also a member of the Coffeeville Masonic Lodge #122 for many years. Lloyd will be remembered by all who knew him for his love of family, church and community. His was truly a life well-lived. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Grady Wilson and mother, Clara Mable Wilson and four sisters He is survived by his wife Rita Nall Wilson; son Marty Wilson (Jeanne); grandson Vann Wilson; granddaughter, Vivian Wilson; step grandchildren Mitchell and Micah; brothers, Grady Eugene Wilson, Curtis Wilson, and Robert Claude Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted on August 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Coffeeville with the Rev. Glen Taylor and Dr. James Best officiating. Visitation will be on August 12, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Lathan’s Funeral Home in Jackson, Alabama. There will also be a visitation one hour prior (10a.m. until11 a.m.) to service at the First Baptist Church of Coffeeville. Active Pallbearers will be Charlie Latham, Jesse Latham, Rex Knight, Tim Wilson, Greg Cotton, Tyler Suttle, Danny Courington, and Jamie Dunagan. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Coffeeville Fire Department and his many friends.
