
William Clyde Cauley, 81, of Chickasaw, passed away March 14, 2016 at his residence after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born September 1, 1934. After graduating from Jackson High School in 1952, he served in the U.S. Army, worked for Vanity Fair Mills in Jackson and then began a career with the U.S. Postal Service. He retired as Postmaster with the Jackson Post Office. He loved music and enjoyed playing the fiddle with his many friends through the years. His favorite times were playing with “The J.P. Armistead Band” and “Mayton’s Western Swing Band.” He especially loved his times with his lifelong friends, “The Parkertown Boys.” He dearly loved his family and lived his life according to his favorite Bible verse, Micah 6:8. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Flinn and Earl Leon Cauley; brother, Carl Cauley and daughter, Janet Cauley. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Motes Cauley; son, John Cauley; brother, Robert Cauley; sister, Elizabeth Cauley; granddaughters, Brandi, Brooke, Brittany; grandson, Blake and great-grandchildren, Layla and Tyler. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Carey Howard, his nephew, officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Lathan Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Bruce Howard, Scott Daugherty, Stephen Daugherty, Ronnie Cauley, Gary Owens and A.J. Motes.
