

Bobbie B. Braswell, of Pride, LA, passed away August 23rd, in Baton Rouge. Known as "The Corner Lady," she was proprietor of a square dance attire shop of the same name. She and her "Sweetie," Willie, were avid square dancers and cultivated a great network of friends through their beloved hobby. Bobbie was a true social butterfly who loved to laugh, give Yellow Rocks aka hugs, and enjoy the company of others. She never met a stranger and leaves behind generations of family, friends, and friends who were like family.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her mother, Aileen Ballenger Brooks; father, Martin Ballenger; her husband, Willie Braswell; son, Terry Braswell; brothers, Leonard, Billy Wayne, and Gawain Lee Ballenger.
She is survived by daughters, Shirley Waring and Bridgett deGruy (Mark); granddaughters, Teri Nesbitt (Teddy) and Pati Williams (Bryan); sister, Dianne Walton; great-grandchildren, Gauge, Blayne, Chevi, Tennessee, Magnolia, and Delta; great-great-granddaughter, Hadlee Kate; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are Saturday August 31, at Lakewood Funeral Home and Memorial Park 6011 Clinton Blvd. Jackson, MS 39209. Visitation 10 am with graveside service at 11 am. A celebration of life will be hosted by the family at a later date, in Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St.Jude Children's Hospital.
