Carolyn Boykin Hisaw was born on June 10, 1947, and died on January 28, 2020. She graduated from Central High School, Class of 1965, on her 18th birthday. She graduated from Delta State University in 1969.
She is survived by her husband Tony Hisaw; two children, Bryan Anderson (Shannon) and Jonathan Anderson (Kimberly); younger brother Bruce Boykin; step-children, Brian Hisaw and Courtney Hisaw Pierce(Johnny); seven grandchildren and numerous cousins nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey C. Boykin and Rena Mae McGraw, and one brother, Charles Boykin (Skeeter).
Mrs. Hisaw was a church pianist for more than 60 years. She played for Griffith Memorial Baptist Church beginning in the fifth grade when she was a pre-teen. She played for Pinelake Church at the original campus, playing for one service on Saturday night and three Sunday morning services. She also played for Crossgates Baptist Church for twenty-three years. Carolyn also played for First Baptist Church of Richland, First Baptist Church of Ridgeland, and First Baptist Church of Clinton. Her final place of service was Raymond United Methodist, playing through the last Sunday of May 2019, when she could no longer play due to her illness.
Carolyn also served as an executive assistant in the corporate office of Jitney Jungle, KLLM Transportation and US Food Service.
She always had a warm smile and blessed all who came in contact with her; she never met a stranger.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 5 pm to 7 pm and Friday, February 7, 2020 from 1 pm to 2 pm at First Baptist Church of Clinton with a service to follow at 2 pm. Interment at Lakewood Memorial Park.
