

Charles Alexander Dennery, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015, in Jackson, MS. Survivors include his devoted wife of 61 years, Mrs. Georgia Dennery; children, Debra Joiner, Iwanna Barbee, Alex Dennery, Nettie Brown & Andrea Thorn; 9 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Alex & Nettie Dennery, who founded the Rotisserie Restaurant in Jackson, Mississippi (famous for introducing Kumbak sauce). He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Dennery Vetter.
Charles served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Philippines. He was a Shriner with the Wahabi Temple & served in the motorcade. He & his wife Georgia worked together through the years at the Rotisserie Restaurant in Jackson, Mississippi, until its closure in 1970s.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, from 1-2 pm at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Clinton, Mississippi, followed by the Funeral Service from 2-3 pm. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, Mississippi.
