Debbie Gail Ornelas of Byram, Mississippi, passed from this world into the open arms of Jesus, our loving Lord and Savior, on Friday, February 4, 2022 at age 68. Debbie was born to Leon O. Eldridge and Mary N. Tall in Detroit, Michigan on November 14, 1953 and was the oldest of five children.
Debbie's joy in life was to take care of her family and friends, her home and her beloved pets. She was an avid decorator of all things in her home. Debbie loved Jesus and spent time studying the Bible. She loved her church and entertaining family and friends. Her infectious smile and spirit will be missed by many. Debbie had a special way of giving to others so that they too felt like family, so comfortable and loved.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Ken Ornelas, and three sons, Kenny Ornelas, Chad Ornelas and Eric Hamilton and one daughter, Gayla Dawn Dodd; granddaughter, Felicity Fortenberry and her husband Jarin and great granddaughter, Alise. She is also survived by mother, Lelia Eldridge, three brothers, Mark Eldridge, Bryce Eldridge, David Eldridge and three sisters, Brenda Johnston, Kelly Hatter and Sandra Burt and their spouses and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, along with many other friends whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Aaron Dean Eldridge and Ethan Allen Eldridge.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service to follow in the chapel. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
