

Dovie “June” Kiser Sisk, 88, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at her home in Raymond, MS. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Raymond, on Tuesday, February 21, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with funeral service to follow. There will be a committal pavilion service at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS at 3:00 pm. The Rev. Mark Strum will officiate the services.
Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Lakewood Funeral Home will oversee the arrangements.
The daughter of late Willie Kiser and Nora Pennington Kiser, June was born June 18, 1934, in Pike County, Kentucky. As the daughter of a Justice of the Peace, June was the youngest of her ten siblings and was raised in Matewan, West Virginia.
June moved to Mississippi, leaving behind the beautiful mountains of West Virginia she loved. In doing so, she met and married James Willie “Bill” Sisk, Sr. on October 23, 1954. June and Bill were married for 49 years before Bill passed on December 29, 2003.
Before retiring, June worked for Hinds Community College for Troy Henderson. June loved traveling, and spending time with her family and close friends. June lived in Raymond and was a member of First Baptist Church of Raymond.
In addition to her parents and husband, June’s eight brothers Walter Kiser, Roy Kiser, Frank Kiser, Fred Kiser, Donald Kiser, Virgil Kiser, Butler Kiser, and Bernie Kiser; and her two sisters, Ruby Kiser and Nellie May Kiser preceded her in death.
June was blessed to have many nieces and nephews to love; as well as her close friends, Dot Wilson, Joyce Newton, and Jackie Granberry. She is survived by her sons, James W. “Billy” Sisk, II (Ginger) and David Anthony “Tony” Sisk (Jackey); her granddaughter, Laura Sisk Gray (John); her grandsons, Noah Sisk and Caleb Sisk; and her great-granddaughter, Ellie June Gray.
June will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
