Duane Bridges

Martin Duane Bridges, 81, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his home in Braxton. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mr. Bridges was born on January 5, 1934 in Harrisville, MS to the late Rubert Martin and Minnie Smith Bridges. He served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He owned Bridges Auto Sales for many years. Duane loved and cared for many animals throughout his lifetime especially dogs and horses.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" Conn Bridges; son, David Martin Bridges (Sue); daughters, Vicki B. Grammer (Keith) and Brenda B. Rutledge (Bryan W.); sister, Gloria Jean Conn (Charles); grandchildren, James F. Hughes, III (Dawn), Bradley K. Grammer, Bryan D. Rutledge, Jacqueline R. Thomas (Mitchell), Lauren A. Bridges, Eric M. Bridges, Braylen M. Arnold; great grandchildren, Kristen N. Hood, Brighton P. Grammer, Marley R. Bridges, and Kaylee M. Hughes.
