Emmett, 86 years old, passed away peacefully with Janie (his wife) by his side on December 19, 2021 after a short illness. Emmett was at Clinton Rehab, Clinton, Miss. when he went home to be with his Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Newman Brown; sons, Mark Brown (Brenda) and Jeff Brown, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and extended family. Emmett was preceded in death by his first wife, Lilla Dale and many other family members.
Emmett served an outstanding career of 45 years with the Mississippi National Guard where he retired as Command Sargent Major. Before returning to Clinton, MS. Emmett resided in Fairhope, Alabama. He and Janie returned home to Clinton to live out their lives together.
Services for Emmett are at Lakewood Funeral Home, Clinton Blvd. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 23 with the service to follow at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
