

Mrs. Ethel Givens Freeman, 91, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at her home in Raleigh Mississippi. Mrs. Freeman was born in Monticello Mississippi on May 31, 1925 to the late Hite McClain Givens and Jemima Ernestine Givens Townsend. She is survived by her daughters, Faye Mayeaux of Taylorsville, Mississippi and Grace Vaughn of Athens, Texas; her son, Curtis Furlow of Pearl, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Nelda Freeman of Raleigh; her dear friend, Carolin Hankins of Raleigh, Mississippi; grandchildren, Austin Furlow, Leah Nunnery, Frank Furlow, Preston Furlow, Cheryl Furlow, David Rone, Ken Rone, Janice Furlow, Deborah Sheppard, and Richard Vaughn; and by Delores McMillin and the McMillin children, Chris McMillin, Andrew McMillin and Mollie Thompson, whom and her husband lovingly "adopted" almost 50 years ago. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton C. Freeman; her son, William Ernest Furlow; granddaughter, Barbara Furlow Wykoff; grandsons, Ricky Rone and Allen Furlow, and her "adopted" son, Malcolm McMillin. Ethel and Milton (Maw Maw and Paw Paw) touched many lives during their life together, gave lovingly and freely to anyone who needed their help, and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at Lakewood Funeral Home South on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Ron Medloch of the South Ridge Raleigh Christian Church is in charge of service.
