Mrs. Ethel Eloise Hegwood

Ethel Eloise McKee Hegwood, age 83, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 in Hazlehurst, MS. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Terry City Cemetery with Dr. John Pace officiating. Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hegwood was born on February 15, 1927 in Waynesboro, MS. She graduated high school at Beat Four in 1944 as the valedictorian and attended Draughon’s Business College from 1944 to 1945. She worked as a bookkeeper for Kenning ton’s Department Store. She then began working for the Hinds County Library System as the Branch Manager in Terry, MS. She was an avid reader. Mrs. Hegwood grew beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Terry, where she enjoyed her work with children and the missionary groups.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dent Hegwood, parents, Robert Issac and Mandy Leavie Smith McKee and a brother, Willie Robert McKee.

Survivors include her two daughters Jo Ann Hegwood Jones and her husband Steve of Wesson, MS and Judy Hegwood Walker and her husband Karon of Utica, MS. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
