Helen Corinne Hughes Laird, 100, passed away on February 18, 2016, at Hospice Ministries. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 10 to 11 am with funeral services at 11am. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Laird was born on September 11, 1915 to the late, Robert Clyde and Anna Fraiser Hughes. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and needlepoint.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Laird; daughter, Jo Ann Laird; brother, Buddie Hughes; sisters, Anna Mae Henrion and Robbie Allen.
Mrs. Laird is survived by her daughter, Bobbye Laird of Jackson, MS; and sisters, Lula Bell Gadmer, Jean Miesse, and Bill Smith.
