James Franklin Cabell, Jr., 77, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with funeral services to follow. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Cabell was born on July 10, 1940 in Jackson, MS. He earned his Juris Doctor and Masters of Accounting degree. He practiced as a Private Practice Attorney, V.P. at Cabell Electric Co., and worked for the IRS. He enjoyed creating and maintaining budgets, listening to operas, and history, specifically WWII. He also had a passion for animals, but most of all he loved visiting with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Olde Town Community Church in Ridgeland, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin Cabell, Sr. and Helen Hargrave Cabell.
Mr. Cabell is survived by his wife, Deborah Cabell; sons, Dr. J.F. Cabell, III (Lisa), Steven Cabell (Kelly), David Cabell (KC); daughter, Patsy Hyland; sister, Helen Moffat (Red); brother, Dr. Thomas Cabell, Sr. (Janice); and 9 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, MS Animal Rescue League, or Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
