

Ted was born on December 24, 1944 in Birmingham, AL to Larry and Hilda West.
He received his Masters in Business Administration at University of Alabama & practiced as a Civil Engineer, Custom Home Builder and Real Estate Developer in Houston, TX, Florida and Southern California. He moved back to his home town of Clinton, MS in 1994 to open a franchise, American Leak Detection. On September 19, 1966, he married Edith Carolyn Miller. They raised one son, Lawrence T. West III.
Ted had numerous hobbies that he enjoyed including restoring classic cars, car shows, offshore fishing, boating, boat shows and music. He played guitar in different bands and played with Elvis at Graceland. He was on the committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Ted had a love for Alabama Football, Alabama Girls Softball, Houston Oilers, Tennessee Titans, MC Girls Softball but his greatest love was for his grandchildren and the time spent with them.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, his father, Larry, and mother Hilda. He is survived by his son Lawrence, daughter-in-law, Amber, 2 grandchildren, Victoria & Lars, his sister, Kay Thornton, her children, Matthew, Anthony and Taylor, brother Mike and his children Savannah and Nicki. Visitation will be held on Saturday December 12, 2020 from 9 am to 10 am with a memorial service to follow at 10 am at Lakewood Funeral Home.
