Martha Frances Sheffield

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High St. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Tuesday and interment will follow the service in Lakewood Memorial Park.

She was born in Meridian, MS on November 18, 1920 and her family moved to Jackson, MS when she was very young. She attended Power Elementary School and graduated from Central High School. She graduated from Millsaps College and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and the Millsaps Singers. She was a member of the Opera Guild and a life long member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Dr. H. C. Sheffield and Mable Powell Sheffield; brother, Col. Paul R. Sheffield and special friend; Dr. Lanelle Gafford.

Survivors include nieces; Carolyn (Cricket) Bell of Gibbon, NE and Sandra Crook of LaVista, NE, a nephew; Paul R. Sheffield of Memphis, TN and several great nieces and nephews.
