Martha Faye Tucker

Faye G Tucker, 87, of Brandon, MS passed away on Thursday September 29, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital after a long battle with heart disease. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 9 to 11 am at Lakewood Funeral Home. Graveside service to follow at 11 am at Lakewood Memorial Park.

She was born in Jackson, MS to Toy Vivian and Lawrence C Griffin on November 16, 1928. After her father's death at a young age, her mother married Henry Fenton DeWees who she described as the best father anyone could have asked for. In 1950 she graduated Beta Sigma Omicron from Millsaps College in Jackson and shortly after graduation she married the love of her life Van K. Tucker. They owned a successful accounting business together and were married for 66 years before her death. She enjoyed a life of entertaining guests, travel, fishing and just relaxing on the back porch.

She is survived by her husband Van K Tucker of Brandon, MS; son Richard L Tucker, Sr. of Philadelphia, MS; daughter Cindy T Sayers of Brandon, MS; 3 grandchildren Rick Tucker of Decatur, AL; Vikki Tucker of Naples, FL and Andrea Sayers of Brandon, MS. 3 great grandchildren Cara and Kylea Tucker and Leah Sayers; brother William (Bill) DeWees (Charlotte) of Greenwood, IN and sister Shirley Gorman (Phillip) of Collierville, TN. and numerous nieces and nephews.
