Mary Nell Allen

Mary Nell Allen, or Mamie, as she was known by close family and friends, from Byram, MS, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025. She was 90 years old. She was spending time at Wisteria Gardens for rehabilitation after a fall. Prior to the fall, she was living at Peachtree Village Assisted Living and Memory care, where she was treated with excellent care, love, and respect.

Mary was born in Yocona, MS on March 12,1935 to William and Mable Hill. She is survived by her son Larry Allen (Eva), two grandchildren, Leah Gilmore ( Josh) and Nathan ( Neysa) Allen and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her son, Trent, her parents, and ten siblings.

Mary was a homemaker, but also dedicated much of her time volunteering at her church, Siwell Road Church of Christ, and Baptist Memorial Hospital.

A visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, located at 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS, 39209, on December 30, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
