Mary Lowe Visser, 91, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 3:00 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Visser was born in Chattanooga, TN on July 24, 1924 to the late Walter and Virginia Lowe Williams. She graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1943 then later moved to Jackson.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Robert “Bob” Hughes and Albert Visser, and her parents.
Mrs. Visser retired from the V.A. Medical Center’s financial department after 20 years of service. She then worked part time as a switchboard operator for Baptist Family Medical Clinic until retiring at 89 years old.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Tammy Stamey; grandsons, Brad Stamey and Rob Stamey (Angela); and two great grandchildren, Alexa Stamey and Christiaan Stamey.
