

She was born October 25, 1933 in Tupelo, MS to the late H. Lee and Ina Lindsey and grew up in Greenwood before moving to Jackson. She attended Central High School then Mississippi Southern College. She was a member of Tri Delta sorority and graduated with a degree in Physical Education. She started her career as a teacher in Pensacola where she met her husband who also was from Jackson. He was a Navy pilot attending flight school and was later stationed in San Diego, CA. While in California, Mary Ann continued teaching and enjoyed being a Navy wife. Mary Ann stayed home to raise her three sons which kept her very busy. After 16 years away, they returned home to Jackson to be close to their extended family. Family was always important to her and she wanted her children to grow up having their support. She returned to working as a teacher and an accounting clerk until she retired from the State of Mississippi. She was always an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed greeting people before Sunday Worship. After 40 years in Jackson, Mary Ann moved to Madison, AL where she quickly made friends and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mary Ann is survived by son Scott Williams of Southaven, MS; son Brian Williams and wife Belinda of Madison, AL; son Todd Williams and wife Lisa of Grapevine, TX; brother Jim Lindsey and wife Brenda of Springfield, VA; and grandchildren Kyle Williams, Vasa Williams, Stacy Dorminey and Rachel Williams.
Graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday December 22, 2020 by Lakewood Funeral Home at Cedar Lawn Cemetery located at 2434 W. Capital St. Jackson, MS. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's. Family request that people attending wear a mask.
