

Arrangements are being handled by Wright and Ferguson in Ridgeland, MS, with visitation on Tuesday, April 23, at 10:00am followed by services at 11:00am. A graveside service will be held at Providence Baptist Church in Eatonville Community, MS, at 4:00pm.
Mrs. Triggs was born in Baxterville, MS, and raised in the Hattiesburg area. She married D. L. Triggs, Jr. in 1949, and they were married for 57 years before his passing. Mrs. Triggs moved to Jackson, MS, with her family in 1957 where she resided until her death. She had a life-long interest in genealogy and was committed to the preservation of family history. She was a member of The Order of the First Families of Mississippi, The Peyton Society of Virginia, The Mississippi Historical Society, and was a Life Member of The Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, and Broadmoor Baptist Church. Her love of gardening brought her great joy, and her green thumb is legendary among family and friends. Her accomplished Southern cooking was enjoyed by all who entered her home, and her generous hospitality will be forever unequalled. She was an exemplary matriarch with a gracious, modest nature who will be remembered as a True Southern Lady.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and her husband, D. L. Triggs, Jr. Survivors include son, David Louis Triggs and his wife Carol Ward Triggs, of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Mary Kay Triggs of Jackson, MS; grandson, Robert Clayton Ward and his wife Amy Northcott Ward of Tullahoma, TN; granddaughter, Ellen Peyton Moore and her husband Jeremy Glen Moore, of Philadelphia, MS; granddaughter, Caroline Adele Triggs of Capetown, South Africa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins with whom said shared special relationships.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Dr. Nicole Cleveland for her wise counsel and limitless kindness and to the physicians, nurses, staff, and volunteers of St. Dominic Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
