Rebecca Sheppard Hasie

Rebecca Jacqueline Sheppard (Roberson) Hasie was born on February 5, 1951 and passed from this life on August 28, 2025. Rebecca, “Becky,” was a lifelong member of Griffith Memorial Baptist Church. The church was where Becky met Allen Leray Hasie, “Ray,” the love of her life. Becky and Ray had just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on August 25. Becky was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to the babies that called her “MeMe.”

Becky was raised in Jackson, Mississippi by her parents, Andrew Jackson “Bo” and Dorothy Sheppard. In her retirement, Becky spent most of her time researching the genealogy of the Sheppard, Roberson, and Hasie families. Becky was the matriarch that held our family together, and we have all become better people thanks to her love, guidance, and patience.

Becky never met a stranger, she made everyone feel welcome. She will be remembered for her quick wit. Her laugh was contagious and could be heard in every room of the house. She loved her birthstone, the amethyst, and was often seen wearing the color purple and the amethyst jewelry gifted to her by family and friends. No matter how large our family grew, Becky never missed a birthday or opportunity to brag on her babies. She built a strong legacy through her family and her good works will carry through for generations.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Bo and Dorothy Sheppard, her sister Eva, her brother in law, l Fred, and her oldest grandchild, Danone’. We know Becky is now holding them tight.

She is survived, and will be desperately missed, by her loving husband, Ray; her sister, Evelyn; her sons, Michael Roberson (Linda), Jason Roberson (Ashley), John Hasie (Megan), and Chas Hasie (Catherine); her grandchildren, Becca Roberson, Michael Roberson (Shandi), Jennifer Braddy (Seth), Angel Wilckens (Harley), Nathan Roberson, Brooklyn Landry, Mackenzie Roberson, Breanna Roberson, Jackson Hasie, Declan Hasie, Ezra Hasie, Cayden Hasie, Chasity Hasie, and Coleman Hasie; her great grandchildren, Adamlee Ledford, Kyleigh Ledford, Holstyn Roberson, Asher Braddy, Addison Bates, Lesleigh Wilckens, Octavia Wilckens, and Raven Roberson; and her extended and adopted family members, Britany Lee, Jackson Johnson, Lilly Greene, Rachael Harris (Chad), Aaron “Beau” Cousins (Megan), and Seth Cousins.

A visitation for Becky will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 PM, she will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memorial Park South.
