

Mr. R.E. “Ed” Johnston, age 92, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Hospice Ministries. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Otis Moore and Rev. Walter Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood South. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the funeral home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Mr. Johnston was born on November 18, 1918 in McComb, MS. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Johnston retired after 45 years of service as a railroad conductor for the Illinois Central Rail Road. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Arthur and Maggie E. Dunn Johnston and two brothers, Melvin and Howard Johnston.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Audrey Johnston of Clinton and three sons, Philip Johnston and his wife Amy of Brookville, PA, Andy Johnston and his wife Brenda of Pelahatchie and Bobby E. Johnston of McComb. A special former daughter-in-law, Lisa Dye of Brandon and a brother, Clifton H. Johnston of Gulfport. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Stayhome Hospice and Hospice Ministries for the wonderful loving caring they gave Ed during his illness.
