Roger Clifton Vincent

Roger was called home to God on May 17, 2011 after a brief stay at St. Dominic Hospital. Roger was born on July 4, 1939 in Galena Illinois to Clifton and Helen Vincent. He was married to Arlene J. Anger, his loving wife of 46 years. He was employed with the Internal Revenue Service for 34 years. After retirement he involved himself in many different ways of service to the community including presiding on the board of Catholic Charities, Mission Mississippi, Amos Network, Daybreak, and Habitat for Humanity. He also participated on the Pastoral Council and Finance council at St. Richards Catholic Church and assisted in prison ministry.

He was also an avid sports fan with a lifelong following of the Chicago sports teams. He is survived by his wife Arlene, his four children: Lynn Vincent, Michael Vincent (Angela), Susan James (Cliff), Mark Vincent as well as eight grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Vincent (Arlene) of Rockford, Illinois, one niece and three nephews.

Visitation services will be from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday May 19 and 10:00am-11:00am Friday May 20 at St. Richards Catholic Church followed by funeral services at 11:00am. Burial will be held later in Galena, Illinois. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home High Street is in charge of arrangements.
