Roy Edwin East

Roy was born on February 12, 1957 in Jackson, Mississippi to Poche and Dorothy East. He graduated from Central high school in Jackson Mississippi 1975. He went on to be a computer operator and a system analyst for 25 years, beginning at Mississippi Valley Gas, then EDS, Bordens, and Bryan Foods.

Roy married Lenora Diane Thomas 2008 and shared many wonderful years together. He has two children, David and Nicki. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a true outdoorsman who loved to explore the wilderness. He was a lifelong independent World War II historian, inspired by his father‘s service in the United States Army and a World War II veteran.

Roy is survived by his wife, Diane, his son David, his daughter, Nicki, dear friend Dora, his sister Bonnie, brother Richie, and family. He was preceded in death by his father Poche, his mother Dorothy, his sister Evelyn, sister Betsy, and brother Robert.

A memorial service will be held at High Point Baptist Church of Raymond on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11 AM. A reserved gathering to continue the celebration of his life will be held at Cock of the Walk restaurant, reservoir location on July 19, 2025 at 5 PM.
