

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday January 7, 2014 from Van Winkle United Methodist Church in Jackson. Visitation will be Monday between the hours of 5 and 7 PM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton and after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the church. A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday in the Philadelphia City Cemetery, Philadelphia, MS.
A graduate of East Central Jr. College and Mississippi State University. He served in the Korean War as a member of the U. S. Army. He retired from the Mississippi State Department of Education. He was an active member of the Van Winkle Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Jo Ferguson Adcock and by his son Mark Adcock (Angela) of Georgia. Survivors include his wife of 29 years Betty Lewis Adcock, his daughter Susan Adcock (James Hamner) of Montgomery, AL; his brother Buford J. “Boo” Adcock (Joan) of Pasadena, TX; his sister Faye Adcock Todd; three step-children Robert Lewis (Rachael), Jana Etheridge (Clark) and Linda Bonner (Mark); eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
