“In Sallie’s words”
“I was born in Utica, MS and moved a lot. I married WL Little in 1953, had my daughter in 1955, and my son in 1957. I buried my husband in 1984 and my son in 2013. I worked for an attorney, David Nutt until I was 75. I moved in with Billy because he lost a leg (job related) and after his death my daughter-in-law died. I then moved to Summit to be with my daughter who has been so good to me. I am a Christian and belong to First Baptist Church of McComb. I don’t go anymore because I cannot hear.”
Sallie worked hard most of her life. She has been a factory worker, nursery worker and went to school to become a hairdresser, co-owned with her husband. She worked for a very profitable cleaning service, worked for the City of Jackson Purchasing, she was also in the National Guard Search and Rescue and lastly David Nutt and Associates until she was 75.
Sallie loved life. Her priorities were her faith in God and her family. She always wanted to skydive so at 85 she did. Planned on doing it again at 90. Sallie never met a stranger. From church to our garbage men, she loved all people. She was an animal lover and watched Pittbulls and Parollees religiously along with the incredible Dr. Pol. Her favorite hobby was crotcheting and gave pieces to everyone that visited.
She is survived by daughter, Amanda Iupe; sister, Martha Boling; granddaughter, Carrie Shamis; grandson, Jason Iupe (Julie),granddaughter, Brittny Iupe (Brandon Alexander); grandson, Matt Little; granddaughter, Sara Little; grandson, William Ryan Little; great-granddaughters, Bailey Shamis, Chloe Belle Alexander, and Dayle Easley; great-grandsons, Braxton Shamis, Kaden Iupe, Connor Howell, Gunner Jace Howell; very special friend, Deloris Carmen; Several nieces and nephews and one special nephew, Dana Cole.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Lavalle Little, Sr.; father, Charles E. Chapman and mother, Jewel Thomas; son, William (Billy) Lavalle Little Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Little; son-in-law, Danny Iupe; sister, Charlene Davis. I would like to especially thank Virgil Sanders with St. Luke Home Health. Sallie loved him and his personal attention.
