Sandra Kirksey Luke

Born August 8, 1944, in Friars Point, Mississippi, to GC (Coach) Kirksey and Sue Fulton Kirksey, Sandra grew up in the Mississippi Delta amid frequent family moves for her father's coaching career. The family settled in Union, MS, in 1959; she graduated from Union High School in 1962.

A standout basketball player in school, she later enjoyed tennis, fishing, and especially tinkering in her garage. After getting married in 1965, Sandra moved throughout the South with her son Bryant being born in 1971. In 1999, she returned to Raymond to settle on family property near her sisters and relatives.

Fiercely loyal and unapologetically opinionated, Sandra thrived on “porch-time” talks, boldly sharing solutions to the world's problems.

She is survived by son Bryant Luke (Adriana); grandchildren Ashley Luke (fiancée Christopher Wolf, wedding April 10, 2027) and Taylor Luke; sisters Donna Durr (Bill) and Kaye McCollister (Mike); and many nieces/nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS, beginning at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow later that day at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 549 S Decatur St, Union, MS.
