Andrew Hunter Baird III

Andy attended Memphis State University and was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Upon graduation, Andy worked in Jackson, TN for Truex Chevrolet. He then had a very successful career as an investment banker starting with J.C. Bradford Co, then in 1969 with Municipal Securities and finishing his career with Duncan Wiliams. He was with the Duncan Williams team for 21 years. Andy was a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers and the S.E.C.

His favorite past times were playing golf, duck hunting, watching football, and visiting with friends in the “men’s grill.” Andy was a member of the Amen Bible Study at 2nd Presbyterian Church in Memphis.

Andy was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; daughter, Julie; and his son, Drew. He is also survived by his stepdaughter and stepson, Bridget and Greg King; and his two grandsons, Zach and Tyler King.

Andrew was a loving husband, father, and loyal friend.

Funeral services will be held at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel in Jackson, TN on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the service.

The family has set up a memorial gathering at the Memphis Botanical Gardens at Sara’s Place on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5-7 p.m.
