

He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 14, 1931 to Monroe D. and Alice Stafford Schrivner.
Billy was a highly respected individual and made a tremendous impact on this community and all with whom he associated. He possessed a humble demeanor, an infectious smile, and all who met him regarded him as a true friend. He will be missed but his light will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
Billy received innumerable honors throughout his career. A few of the more significant ones are service as a TSSAA supervisor for many years, induction into the Jackson Madison County Sports Hall of Fame, which he helped found, National High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and TSSAA Hall of Fame in 1986. Also, he was a basketball and football official for 33 years and was involved with TSSAA for 60 years. He officiated several National Championship games for NCAA as well as NAIA. Billy was a faithful Christian servant, and served as deacon at Skyline Church of Christ for 42 years.
He is survived by his faithful and devoted wife of 58 years, Margie Monroe Schrivner and loving son, Russ M. Schrivner (Jan). He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Monroe D. and Alice S. Schrivner, and a beloved daughter, Donna Schrivner Aldrich.
Surviving family members include Max Aldrich (Stephanie); grandchildren, Sylvia Schrivner Brown (Richard), Stafford Aldrich, Alex Aldrich, Chuck Humphrey (Rachel), and Blaine Sisco (Rusty); great-grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Nash Humphrey, Jovi Kate Humphrey and Addison Sisco; brother and sister-in-law, Emily Hopgood (Dale) and Jerry Monroe (Sarah); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 2 p.m., at Skyline Church of Christ. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family would like to express their grattitude to Hospice of West Tennessee, Dr. Barney Witherington, Dr. Bob Higgs, and Lisa Phillips. The family is deeply appreciative of all the cards, visits, and phone calls from all of Billy's multitude of friends and family. His last weeks were greatly blessed and made more joyous by the countless friends who made a visit and put a smile on his face.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Youth Town of Tennessee.
