Charles (Chuck) E Dolejs Jr., age 90, of Jackson, Tennessee passed away quietly on Friday February 15, 2019. Chuck was born January 10, 1929 to the late Charles Sr. and Susan Dolejs. They and his sister Marie (Dolejs) Wentzlaff are surely holding him safely in their heavenly embrace.
As a young boy Chuck was curious and creative. He could take apart and rebuild all types of things. His wit and good nature was surely a joy to his sweet parents, as it was throughout the years to anyone lucky enough to meet him. He was also very musically talented, and at 15 he played his sax and clarinet as part of professional bands in ballrooms and dancehalls in Chicago.
After working many types of jobs - from musician to auto mechanics to draftsman, and two years in the army during the Korean War. Chuck took a leap of faith and enrolled in broadcasting school in hopes of realizing his dream of becoming a radio announcer. His beautiful voice, intelligence and his wit made him a favorite radio personality. His 40 year career in radio took him from Illinois to Wisconsin to South Florida and finally to Jackson Tennessee.
Chuck was a truly kind hearted man who loved completely. He was honest and loyal sweet and funny. No one could ever be a better husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maggi Dolejs and their 9 children: Deborah (Dolejs) Lang, Chuck Dolejs III, Chuck Davis (Deceased), Timothy Davis, Denise (Dolejs) Neidig, Dorray (Dolejs) Woods, Darcy (Dolejs) Neihardt, Christopher Davis, and Christopher Dolejs. He was also grandpa to 19 grandchildren and 31 great- grandchildren. Though we will miss him the memory of this beautiful soul will live on in our hearts and memories.
