
A Memorial Service for Dr. Clarence Driver Jr. will be held Monday August 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, TN. The family will receive friends after the service in Memorial Hall at the church. A private Graveside Service will be held at Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Dr. Driver was born September 15, 1928 in Humboldt, TN to the late Clarence and Elizabeth Driver. He graduated from Humboldt High School. He attended Union University and UT College of Medicine. He served his internship in Jackson, MS and his residency in Urology at the UT Center for Health Sciences. He was a doctor of Urology and practiced with Dr. Jimmy Barnes and Dr. Oliver Graves at the Urology Clinic. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and a member of Richard Swain’s Sunday School Class. Dr. Driver was also an avid fisherman and loved to play golf. During the Korean War he spent two years in the United States Air Force with the 67th Bomber Squad as a flight surgeon.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Gertrude Sullivan Driver, one daughter Elizabeth Driver of Canton, GA, one son Todd Driver (Lee) of Jackson, TN and three grandchildren Blair, Ellen and Wallace, two sisters Betty Rose (Lloyd) Adams Knoxville, TN and Gayle (Eddie) Crocker Jackson, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
The Family has requested memorials be made directly to the 1st Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
