

Darline was a longtime school bus driver for the Jackson-Madison County School System, a role she took great pride in. Through her years of service, she touched the lives of countless children and families, becoming a familiar and trusted presence in the community.
Above all else, Darline took great pride in her family. She was always trying to feed everyone and could cook like no other. Known for her sassy and witty personality, she was truly the light of her family’s life, bringing laughter, warmth, and love to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer David Fitzgerald and Christine Lee Fitzgerald; and her siblings, Barbara Fitzgerald Harvey, Ruby Fitzgerald Allen, Franklin David Fitzgerald, George Thomas Fitzgerald, and James Allen Fitzgerald.
Darline is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Travis Wayne Weatherford; her daughter, Brandy Nicole Weatherford Blackmon (Philip); her grandchildren, Cody McKinney (Hayley) and Christina Lenard (Niko); and one great-grandchild on the way, Sutton Layne McKinney, whom she was eagerly awaiting.
A service to celebrate the life of Darline Fitzgerald Weatherford will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Burial will follow in Maple Springs Cemetery near Mercer, Tennessee. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., two hours prior to the service
